Marina Johnson, M.D., F.A.C.E., Medical Director of The Institute of Endocrinology and Preventive Medicine Received Tarrant County's 2013 "Women of Excellence" Award.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Marina Johnson has been selected as Tarrant County’s 2013 “Women of Excellence.” The symposium and awards luncheon was held April 23 at Stonegate Mansion in Fort Worth. Dr. Johnson is a nationally known authority of endocrine disorders. She is a UCLA/USC trained physician, Board-Certified in Endocrinology & Metabolism and in Internal Medicine. Dr. Johnson is the author of “Outliving Your Ovaries” and founder of the Institute of Endocrinology and Preventive Medicine (IEPM) in Irving, Texas.

Eighty percent of menopausal women suffer in silence and deny themselves the benefits of estrogen, often because of fear and misinformation. Dr. Johnson’s mission is to educate women on the benefits of hormone replacement (HRT): 32% lower risk of heart disease, 50% lower risk for Alzheimer’s disease and osteoporosis and an improvement in mortality of 39%. “Outliving Your Ovaries” is a guidebook that empowers women to take charge of their health. By becoming informed they’re better equipped to work with their physicians to determine what’s right for them.

At IEPM, Dr. Johnson provides personalized, superlative care to women and men with an emphasis on preventive medicine and healthy aging. In addition to optimizing hormones, she manages the whole person. Becoming proactive in your forties and fifties enhances your health and promotes long-term wellness.
