Remember the KISS rule: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Simple, short, but informational is crowdfunding gold

Crowdfunding expert Kendall Almerico, CEO of ClickStartMe, announced this important tip for crowdfunders: Keep It Simple Stupid. Almerico, the crowdfunding guru who recently released his Top 10 tips for launching a crowdfunding project, said that crowdfunders too often make their projects complicated and hard to understand, and that turns off potential donors.
"Remember the KISS rule: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Simple, short, but informational is crowdfunding gold." Almerico said. "Generally you have less than 5 seconds to grab someone’s attention with something in writing. If your project description introduction isn’t compelling, 75% of people will not read any further." Almerico notes that the first paragraph of a crowdfunding project description needs to follow the old journalist's rule for a news lead paragraph." The very first paragraph needs to tell the who, what, when, where and why," Almerico explains, "But it also needs to grab attention."
The crowdfunding expert further pointed out, "Unless you are a celebrity or have some form of notoriety, the “who” is not likely to grab attention. The “what” and “why” are the best bets." Almerico says. "Give supporters a reason to keep reading. The initial paragraph is not a place to give excessive details or a long, drawn-out back story."
Almerico further notes: "It is important to personalize the project and show passion. Most importantly, tell potential supporters why they should be excited about the project, too."
