Through Recent Promotional Event, Dr. Daniel Barth’s ‘Maurice on the Moon’ Reaches More Readers

From May 7 to May 9, Dr. Daniel Barth offered his Kindle book ‘Maurice on the Moon’ at no cost. With over 1,800 downloads, the educational sci-fi adventure ebook reached the hands of more individuals.

Winner of the Amgen Award for Excellence in Science Teaching and active advocate of Common Core Standards, Dr. Daniel Barth is the author of ‘Maurice on the Moon,’ the first Kindle book of an educational, sci-fi adventure series geared towards young students. The second and third parts of the series, ‘The Doomed Colony of Mars and Crisis on the Far Side,’ respectively, are available on Kindle as well. The ebook is currently used as a Common Core resource and part of the curriculum in many schools throughout the country.

With the recent popularity of implementing Common Core Standards within schools, Dr. Barth and his publishing partner firm, Funderstanding, utilized Amazon’s KDP Select Program to increase the book’s visibility and availability.

The final numbers for the promotional event were as follows. There were 1,876 total downloads for ‘Maurice on the Moon,’ both within the United States as well as international countries. For a steady two days, the book ranked #1 in two categories: ‘Astronomy & Space’ and ‘Science, Nature & How It Works.’ In addition, throughout the 3 promotional days, the book’s bestselling rank for top free books improved by more than 12,000 positions.
