Pevco, a U.S. manufacturer of pneumatic tube systems for hospitals, today announced that its systems are now available in China.
“We are thrilled to bring our products to China, one of the fastest growing healthcare markets in the world,” Pevco President Fred Valerino, Jr. said. “As existing hospitals in China look to expand and modernize their technology infrastructure and new hospitals are built, we’re confident our technology will play a key role in delivering improved medical care in China.”
At the end of 2012, there were more than 960,000 medical facilities in China, including some 23,000 general hospitals and about 34,000 community health centers, according to a government-issued press release.
Pevco will be represented in this burgeoning market by Beijing Huayuzhongfu Electro-mechanical Equipment Co., Ltd (HY), which has signed on as Pevco’s exclusive distributor in China.
Pevco representatives will showcase their pneumatic tube system technology at the HY booth during next week’s Hospital Build China Exhibition & Congress. The conference, which runs from May 19 – 21 in Nanjing, aims to provide information from healthcare’s leading suppliers of construction services and technology to major hospital construction directors.
Pevco will demonstrate Pevco Link™, the company’s medication and specimen tracking technology. Pevco Link’s station user controls are customized for the Chinese market and display all commands in Chinese.
“It was very important to both Pevco and HY that we localize our pneumatic tube system for the Chinese market,” said Steve Dahl, Pevco’s director of product development and marketing. “We spent considerable time carefully translating the user controls and product documentation so that our new customers in China will benefit from the easy to use technology.”
The introduction of Pevco Link at Hospital Build China will show hospital construction decision makers how hospital staff can securely send—and track the location of—specimens, blood products and pharmaceuticals in a pneumatic tube system. Pevco Link’s tablet-like touch control features built-in directories of station addresses and an easy to read color display. Its integrated barcode reader enables healthcare staff to track the contents of any carrier sent in the system so they will know exactly what was sent, when it arrived and who received it.
Also featured at Hospital Build China will be Pevco Smart Path™, the company’s traffic management technology. Smart Path greatly improves the efficiency of pneumatic tube system networks by reducing wait times and increasing blower efficiency and delivery speed. Smart Path is available for new systems, existing systems and upgrades to other manufacturers’ systems.
“No other pneumatic tube supplier to Chinese hospitals can offer technology comparable to Pevco Link and Pevco Smart Path,” Dahl said.
