Bluefin Media (http://www.bluefinmedia.com) hosted its first annual Bluefin Kids Day on May 14, 2013. This is a festive work day that encourages team members to bring his or her children to the office for an inside look at the day-to-day happenings at Bluefin Media.
“This is a positive way to teach children about the professional environment and see firsthand what their parents do on a daily basis,” says Charlotte Larsen, Chief Financial Officer for Bluefin Media. “It also helps children dream about their future careers.”
Each child sat next to their parents and gained a greater understanding of their role with the company. In addition, there was also plenty of open recreation time where the kids could participate in various art activities, web based games, or see how the digital media world comes to life on the World Wide Web.
Later in the day, the kids stepped into Bluefin Media’s video production room where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how daily segments are produced. They even got to film a short clip in front of the green screen, which was a big hit! Finally to finish off their experience, the kids received gift bags to remember their fun-filled day.
