KOH SAMUI, THAILAND (PRWEB UK) 16 May 2013
akyra Chura Samui, the unique absolute beachfront boutique resort and spa nestled at the quiet end of Chaweng, will host a 'Billionaire Party on the Beach' bash on June 1st, 2013 to introduce its new-look restaurant concepts, Club and Noodle House.
The party would be the first of regular planned special events and was also a prelude to the launch of monthly 'Saturday Sessions', which would offer smoother, groovier interludes for grown ups bored of beach clubs and fed up with full moon parties.
The new akyra Chura Samui Resident Manager, Stephane Carric, said 'Billionaire Party on the Beach' was being staged jointly with glamorous beach party specialists Thaibiza. The swanky soiree would serve as both a showcase for the complete revamp of the hotel's F&B facilities and a chance to celebrate the resort's shift to a resolutely adults-only resort.
“The party is going to be bold, brash, and a lot of fun,” said Mr Carric, a Frenchman who joins akyra and Akaryn Hospitality Management Services (AHMS) after having worked at several leading Thai resort groups. “There will be featured DJs, live performances, installation art and a few other surprises, not to mention a Ketel One premium vodka station at the bar.
“We have let our adults-only positioning take root since it was introduced last year. A lot of changes have been quietly happening at akyra over the past few months, and this will be our chance to bring everyone up to date and generate a bit of buzz.”
akyra Chura Samui features 61 rooms, from Studio Zen Dens to One Bedroom Bliss Suites, shaded by towering palm trees, overlooking the azure splash of akyra's beachfront swimming pool and stunning white sand beach. “It's an amazing location and not what people expect of Chaweng at all,” Mr Carric said.
The guest rooms and suites are understated, minimal but functional, and designed with a strong Japanese aesthetic, but the real wow happens when you walk into the bathroom. These are masterpieces of the AHMS Collection's 'Outdoor Living – In' philosophy – a generous terrazzo jacuzzi, outdoor rain shower, pebble contemplation garden and meditation space are amongst the features to grace these sanctuaries to soak in.
Mr Carric said CLUB, the resort's brand new beachfront bar, restaurant and chill out zone, would be the focus of attention at the party, and the venue for the ongoing Saturday Sessions. “CLUB is a place to invite friends, hang out, chill, appreciate and enjoy,'' Mr Carric said. “It's groovy, unpretentious, happening and alive. Think seaside sofas, lounge vibes, DJs from time to time.
“Comfort food is the starting point but expect a few surprises, including home-made sauces that ascend the spice scale from Breeze to Storm to Typhoon, along with our signature wasabi-based akyra sauce.
“The main thing is to sip a beer or cocktail or a nice glass of vino with your toes in the sand and the sea breeze in your hair, watching the serene seascape and digging on cool sounds and chilled people.''
The Noodle House seeks to capture the amazing, aromatic sensory overload of a visit to an Asian street market. “It's vibrant, spiced, exciting,'' Mr Carric said. “Imagine oodles of noodles, more noodles than you could shake a pair of chopsticks at, and you might be close.
“The Noodle House is like being in some vast international market where you have everyone from Thai to Malay to Vietnamese to China to southern Thai style vendors, all vying for your attention.
“Of course the ambience is also infused with the relaxed luxury, style and savoir faire you would expect from the AHMS Collection. And the team is friendly, enthusiastic and equipped with the knowledge to guide diners through the menu to get the most out of this innovative concept.”
