KPN Awards Two New Contracts for School and Government Entities

Schools, government agencies, institutions of higher education and other nonprofit organizations can piggyback on two new contracts that have been solicited, advertised, evaluated and awarded by the Keystone Purchasing Network (KPN), a national cooperative purchasing program created by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regional educational service agency.

KPN offers members commodities that are competitively bid and awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, resulting in higher quality at lower pricing. Members piggybacking on these contracts benefit by saving time and the expense of conducting the bidding process.

KPN’s latest awarded vendors include Musco Lighting® and Sportsfield Specialties Inc. (SSI), adding value to the line of KPN athletic contracts. Both companies offer quality products with excellent installation services and discount pricing. Schools and local government agencies contemplating an installation of an athletic field project may now purchase a quality turf field, running track, field lighting and state-of-the-art football goal posts, without duplicating the bid process.

Musco Lighting®, an industry leader in sports and large area lighting offers its Light-Structure Green® lighting system, which cuts operating costs in half, reduces spill light by 50 percent, eliminates maintenance hassle for 25 years, guarantees constant light levels for 25 years, and includes system monitoring with remote on/off control services for field and parking lot lighting. Light-Structure Green is engineered from foundation to poletop in 5 Easy Pieces™.

Sportsfield Specialties Inc. (SSI) offers an entire line of outdoor athletic construction products including track and field equipment, football goal posts, goals (soccer, field hockey and lacrosse), baseball/softball equipment, junction boxes, custom modular products (dugouts, scorer’s tables, etc.), Promats® Athletics protective padding and mat products, ball safety netting systems, synthetic turf maintenance equipment, and much more. Included in this contract is a complete line of indoor sports equipment from Sport Specialties, a sister company of SSI. Sport Specialties offers an entire line of proven indoor sports construction products including basketball systems, volleyball systems, divider curtains, wall padding, scoreboards, batting cages and other indoor accessories.

With more than 40 existing contracts available, KPN members can easily access information by visiting http://www.theKPN.org or calling (888) 490-3182. Membership is free with no obligation to purchase, and KPN will provide complete bid and contract documentation upon request to members interested in piggybacking its contracts.
