Golfers of all levels will tee off May 17, 2013, at Gleneagles Country Club when the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 27th Annual Golf Tournament gets under way at 1 p.m.

The lucky field of 144 will compete for the lowest scores and the opportunity to win five upscale hole-in-one prizes, compliments of Delray Motors, an auto dealer between South Dixie Highway and South Federal Highway near a development of Delray Beach waterfront homes for sale. Among Delray Motors’ prize offerings is the chance to win a lease on a new Lincoln MKZ.

Golfers also have a stake in a Weekes & Callaway hole prize of $25,000 in cash. Among the raffle prizes are tickets to the Arts Garage theater, certificates to Burt and Max’s and Deck 84 restaurants, a room at the Colony Hotel & Cabana Club on Atlantic Avenue, a treatment at Massage Envy and several other quality items.

Hole-in-one prizes and raffle gifts aside, the primary reason golfers are looking forward to the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 27th Annual Golf Tournament is the course. This year, they will step onto the Gleneagles Country Club Victory Course, a par-71, 18-hole masterpiece that measures more than 6,000. The Gleneagles Country Club Victory Course recently was renovated with well-maintained grass and colorful South Florida landscaping.

Surrounding the links are Gleneagles County Club homes for sale in a gated-community setting. Residences include single-family homes, condominiums and apartments and feature glimpses of the lakes and water features that dot the fairways.

A nice gourmet lunch will be provided prior to the scheduled shotgun start, following registration. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. At 5 p.m., cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served during the official awards ceremony. Prizes will be given to those with the longest drive, straightest drive and closest-to-the-pin shot.

Cost is $165 per golfer and $650 per foursome. Cost includes balls, cart and greens fees, lunch, a complimentary cocktail and unlimited hors d’oeuvres. For $35 extra, golfers can get one “Movin’ On Up car, two mulligan, two “Get Out of Sand” cards, and 10 raffle tickets.

The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce will benefit from tournament proceeds and use them to support its mission of strengthening local business owners and advocating for their success.
