We’re excited to open enrollment to more nursing students for the Fall 2013 semester.
San Marcos, CA (PRWEB) May 16, 2013
California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is expanding its popular Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program this fall. Administered by CSUSM’s Extended Learning and offered at the university’s San Marcos and Temecula campuses, the ABSN program will add a seventh cohort to meet the growing demand for nurses in southwest Riverside County.
“We’re excited to open enrollment to more nursing students for the Fall 2013 semester,” says CSUSM Extended Learning Dean Mike Schroder. “The ABSN program is one of our most popular degrees, and the need for highly trained nurses in southern California is growing every day.”
CSUSM Extended Learning employs a cohort system of education for its California ABSN program. A cohort is a group of students who work through a curriculum together to achieve the same academic degree.
“Because they are accepted into the same program, take their classes together, and graduate together, students in cohorts tend to form a strong support system and professional network that benefit them during their degree program and beyond,” says Schroder.
Extended Learning has cohorts planned for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. The Fall program will accept one cohort in Temecula, the Spring program will accept one cohort in San Marcos, and the Summer program will admit one cohort in Temecula. Applications received now will be considered for admission into all planned cohorts. Extended Learning also offers an RN to BSN and RN to MSN program.
An information session on the ABSN program will take place May 24 at the Temecula campus. For more information or to RSVP, call 760-750-4020 or visit http://www.csusm.edu/el/.
