Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) has once again joined with Denver/Boulder radio station 97.3 KBCO to recognize educators through its Teacher of the Year award. This year’s winner, Natalie Wilson from Mead Elementary, will receive a scholarship (valued at $18,000) to earn her master’s degree at CSU-Global, the nation’s first 100% online, independent, accredited, public university in the United States.

“We are proud to be a part of the Teacher of the Year program and honor all the devoted teachers, like Mrs. Wilson, who every day dedicate themselves to their students’ success,” said Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, CSU-Global’s President. “By providing this scholarship and offering a wide variety of academic programs for teachers, we ensure educators have access to the continued professional development they need to grow as teacher leaders.”

Throughout the month of April, 97.3 KBCO received thousands of emails about deserving teachers who have greatly influenced the lives of their students and impacted their communities. Mrs. Wilson was nominated by a parent of one of her students who wrote, “That a teacher can be genuinely involved with each child in class is something I would have believed impossible before meeting Natalie Wilson.” This is the third consecutive year CSU-Global has offered a scholarship to the winner of 97.3 KBCO Teacher of the Year award.

CSU-Global offers a number of educational opportunities for teachers including its 100% online M.S. in Teaching and Learning. Within the past year, CSU-Global signed an agreement with TeacherReady, an accredited online teacher certification program, so that students may receive their teacher licensure as part of their master’s degree. CSU-Global also offers graduate Certificates of Completion in Contemporary Practices in K-12 Online Learning, Educational Technology and Instructional Design, and Teacher Leadership among others. With CSU-Global’s Tuition Guarantee, a student’s tuition rate will remain the same from their very first class until they graduate.
