Baby Appleseed stands out among baby furniture brands with the honor of GREENGUARD Certification, which assures consumers that their certified eco-friendly baby cribs and eco-friendly baby furniture have the fewest possible pollutants for a truly green environment.

Baby Appleseed is the leading manufacturer of JPMA and GREENGUARD certified eco-friendly baby furniture.

Caring for the environment and safety has always been a priority at Baby Appleseed. Along with its seal from JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s Association), its new GREENGUARD Certification is setting a high bar of excellence that parents demand.

GREENGUARD’s certification cuts through the confusion of marketing eco-claims and helps consumers find manufacturers that truly meet the rigorous standards of sustainability and low-toxicity through independent, third-party testing. All certified products must pass stringent chemical emissions requirements, such as a screening of more than 10,000 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can create indoor pollution.

Since its founding in 2004, Baby Appleseed was driven by its social responsibility to build a new kind of baby furniture company, so parents could improve upon the classic baby nursery while making a positive impact on the environment. All their eco-friendly baby crib and dresser proudly use non-toxic, water-borne finishes along with solid wood construction with non-moving parts, which are safe for children and the planet.

Before eco-friendly was the latest buzzword, Baby Appleseed began working with the non-profit organization, American Forests, planting 10 trees with every baby crib purchase. The American Forests’ program such as the Global Releaf project involves many regions in the United States that urgently need trees. To date, Baby Appleseed has planted over 100,000 trees thanks to caring customers, who believe that their mission is essential in creating a better world for each future generation.

“We’re ecstatic with this new announcement. It crystallizes our commitment for a safer, greener planet,” said Stan Liu, co-founder. “We feel the GREENGUARD standards are an important proactive approach for what’s best for babies and parents.”

GREENGUARD’s scientific method uses dynamic environmental chambers testing as guided by the US Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) testing protocol for furniture, the state of Washington's protocol for interior furnishings and construction materials, Germany's Blue Angel Program, California’s Department of Public Health Services (CDPH) Standard Practice for Specification Section 01350 and the ISO 16000 environmental testing series. Actual product use is reconstructed inside the dynamic environmental chambers, and particle and chemical emissions are measured at specific intervals during strict testing protocols.

Now that Baby Appleseed is verified, their GREENGUARD certified eco-friendly baby furniture will add points to established green building programs, satisfy code or ordinance criteria or meet indoor air quality specific RFP requirements.

Caring for the environment and safety has always been a priority at Baby Appleseed. Along with its seal from JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s Association), its new GREENGUARD Certification is setting a high bar of excellence that parents demand.

And it all began with the simple act of planting a tree. Giving back more than taking has been one of Baby Appleseed’s guiding principles. The company demonstrates time and time again that it truly acts upon its environmental beliefs, by supporting local communities, beautifying the landscape and manufacturing healthy and safe baby furniture to help to sustain our planet for all the children of the world, generation after generation.
