Aurcana Corp. increased silver production by 21% compared to last year’s first quarter and increased revenues by about $1 million dollars despite lower silver prices. The company has increased recoveries by 80% compared to 2012 despite less milling days from holidays and expansions.
Aurcana Corp’s La Negra mine is now able to take advantage of the newly expanded capacity of 3,000tpd. Their Shafter mine has completed new initiatives that have improved operation the last 6 weeks. The mines first brand new fully automated tailings filter press has been commissioned in operation and a second CCD tank will help them meet their target of a running rate of 600tpd by the next quarter.
