An estimated 3000 gallons of water could be saved a year by checking for leaks. By catching them early you not only stand to lose less water.

It has been reported in money.aol.co.uk that Environmental Agency Chairman, Lord Chris Smith spoke at the Institute of Water’s annual conference, urging companies to take action to prevent sources overflowing, particularly during heavy rain, where flooding of homes and businesses can cause significant damage. Lord Smith acknowledged that steps had been taken to improve environmental protection and cut leaks from pipes and networks, however states that more needs to be done, stressing that “water companies need to make better use of their resources by sharing water.”
The warnings come as the UK faces climate change and a fast growing population, both of which can add pressure to the country’s water supply.
