Today Athena Wireless announced the hiring of a new Vice President of Engineering, Maurice D’Souza. Maurice brings over 25 years of technology industry experience to Athena Wireless Communications. Maurice has over 25 years experience in wireless and wire line telecommunications’ architecture, design and deployment. Maurice has been involved in small cells in various roles for the last 7 years. He has brought to market two small cells with two different companies. Most recently he was the Sr. Director of Engineering at Cambium Networks. Previous to that role, he was VP of Engineering at Powerwave Technologies and VP of Engineering at AirWalk Communications. He has held various technical and management roles in Samsung Telecommunications, Lucent Technologies, Motorola and AT&T Bell Labs. Maurice has a MBA from Texas A&M Commerce, a MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, BSEET from DeVry University and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai. He has filed many patent disclosures and holds one US patent. Maurice will oversee the engineering and product development of Athena’s LTE Small Cell.
