Type 1 diabetes is an awful random disease and people need to know that it is very different than type 2 diabetes, a disease that can be prevented.

Melissa Productions psychic CEO to give Kiss 95.1 morning show host’s wife a psychic consultation with an agreement that if she is satisfied, he will donate the consultation fee to her daughter's JDRF Walk Team named Madison's Meter Patrol.
Melissa was on the air with Kiss 95.1’s ‘Drex and Maney’ during the weekday morning show. One of the hosts was discussing his wife’s interest in psychic readings and the authenticity behind such an art. Melissa offered her services to assist in his wife’s curiosity by providing her a psychic consultation in exchange for a contribution to a great cause—type 1 diabetes.
“This was a great opportunity for me to build awareness for my daughter’s type 1 diabetes and my intuitive gift,” Melissa shares. “My daughter is my hero! She has so much strength and courage living with a disease where she has to prick her fingers 8 – 12 times a day and have an insulin pump attached to her body. Sharing my gift with others is easy. What’s not easy is knowing that my daughter could lose a limb, experience kidney damage, and go blind all because she caught a virus which attacked and killed the insulin producing beta cells of her pancreas.”
Last year, Melissa raised $10K and auctioned off a basket filled with her children’s books, hand-painted wine glasses and framed prints of her oil paintings at the JDRF Hope Gala in Charlotte, NC. This year, she’s already raised $5K and hopes to raise more.
“I will never stop raising awareness and asking others to support type 1 diabetes until there is a cure!” said Melissa. “I’ve even dedicated a section on my blog, Not Your Ordinary Psychic Mom, to share the highs and lows of living with this disease. Providing Maney’s wife with a psychic consultation hopefully will bring more awareness to my psychic mom life, raising four kids with one battling type 1 diabetes every day for the past 18 months.”
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas have been destroyed. With type 2 diabetes, a person’s pancreas isn’t producing enough insulin or their body has become insulin resistant a result of being overweight and not exercising.
