Private Detective Portsmouth gives information regarding spy equipment and gadgets in light of recent The Telegraph report dated 20 May 2013: Teenage burglar with electronic tag pulls a fast one on G4S security official

Like Judge William Hart said this boy could have used his ingenuity in a better way and we hope that the system is able to help him direct his life in a different way.

According to The Telegraph report dated 20th May and edited by Richard Holt a 16 year old teenager, who could not be named, was sentenced to a home curfew, but pulled a fast one on the security company which was setting up his electronic tag. The quick thinking boy decided to give himself more freedom by running as fast as he could down the street when asked over the phone by an official from G4S to walk around the perimeter of his house so they could map his curfew zone. This meant that the lad could still walk down the road without triggering the tag.

The Telegraph report goes on to say that on hearing how the lad had managed to get around the curfew restriction.

On 8th May Judge William Hart from Gloucester Crown Court said: "It's a pity he can't direct his ingenuity in a rather more constructive way."

The boy started out well on the order but within two weeks received a warning for smoking cannabis. Judge Hart told the boy, "You seem quite incapable of complying with the rules that the court and others place upon you. I suspect that is largely a result of your immaturity.”

Private Detective Portsmouth often use spy equipment and gadgets to help them with investigations. These devices can be items such as GPS tracking devices, listening devices and hidden cameras. Detectives at Private Detective Portsmouth believe that a GPS tracking device would have been a more accurate device to have used for this teenager as he would not have been able to trick it like he did the electronic tag.

Spokesperson from Private Detective Portsmouth, Sandra Hughes said:
“Like Judge William Hart said this boy could have used his ingenuity in a better way and we hope that the system is able to help him direct his life in a different way. Using spy equipment and gadgets as part of an investigation can give much needed evidence in cases which can be used to get to the truth.”
