Too often businesses talk with a whole bunch of mambo jumbo and jargon when it comes to writing the copy on their website.

SEO Sherpa Founder James Reynolds in an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) news update published to his website reported on two mistakes that webmasters often commit. Commenting on a video from Google’s Matt Cutts, the expert in seo services in Dubai zeroed in on two of these and provided calls to action to address them appropriately.

The first of mistakes that Reynolds looked into was not thinking about the SEO meta data for the key pages on a website. He noted that internet users have a clear intention when they type a query in to the search engine box and would like search engine results to be relevant to that query. “You want to mirror back to them the types of keyword phrases that they’re actually typing in to the search engine,” he stated.

In order to avoid meta data being overlooked, Reynolds mentioned three tips. His first tip was to include the keyword phrase in the page title of the website. For example, if the user types in “seo services in Dubai” then these keywords should be present in the title page of the site.

His second tip was to optimize the page meta data for the search engine results page. This meant that the page title should not be more than 70 characters long and the page description not more than 155 characters long. Adding the company or website name was also emphasized in which Reynolds noted, “…they’re going to remember that web page more about the brand and the website name than they ever would do the page title itself.”

Capping off the first mistake was a third tip that called for a compelling page title and description. Reynolds also noted that the page meta data should have a call to action and even a benefit so that visitors will be enticed to click on the search result. “Include a benefit and mirror back the keywords that your prospects are using to find your business,” he said.

The second of mistakes that Reynolds took on was alienating a prospect or a website visitor when creating website copy. He advised that using easy to understand words and avoiding fluffiness were key factors in producing better performing websites. For example, writing “how much are seo services in Dubai” instead of scribbling “pricing Dubai seo” is more understandable to visitors.

“Too often businesses talk with a whole bunch of mambo jumbo and jargon when it comes to writing the copy on their website,” Reynolds said. He even strongly suggested changing the copy if it does not present itself clearly to visitors.

His second tip to fix this problem was to conduct a red pen test to see if the copy has sensibility. Reynolds stressed that all copy should be tailored for visitors and not for search engines. Every webmaster should see to it that every page is written in correct English. “Forget keyword stuffing, start thinking about your user and your website will do well,” Reynolds concluded.

The red pen test technique echoed advice issued in an earlier SEO tips video presented by James Reynolds in his SEO Sherpa website. He clearly emphasized in that report that a website should be created practically for human beings. “Make sure it’s written for human beings and uses the type of terminology that your users would be searching for,” Reynolds reiterated.

In closing, James Reynolds tackled two SEO mistakes, provided calls to action to arrest these mistakes, and gave out valuable tips to avoid these shortcomings. Tips like using the red pen test technique and properly optimizing keyword phrases should be taken seriously and be applied to all website pages to ensure satisfactory search engine results.

Webmasters should take into account the advice heeded by Reynolds since the success of an SEO campaign - and website, for that matter - rely heavily on following proper procedures in crafting a quality webpage copy.
