The best-selling boy band in history, the Backstreet Boys open their 24-date coast-to-coast U.S. trek at Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion in August.

The Backstreet Boys turned 20 this year, and they’re bigger than ever. Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993, the boy band broke into the mainstream in 1996.

Since then, the five-member vocal harmony group has sold over 130 million tracks worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history. BSB is also the first musical group or artist since Sade to have their first seven albums break into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. (Source

Last year, they released It’s Christmas Time Again, hosted the largest Good Morning America concert event ever and took off on their first NKOTBSB tour. That’s the name (and the initials) of their super group with fellow boy band New Kids on the Block.

The highly successful field trip included 80 shows in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. It sold out 50 U.S. cities and ran through June. Before that, the boys had set sail on their 2011/2012 Cruise #2 gig, after selling out their first high seas adventure in 2009.

This year, the quintet has embarked on yet another trek with Jesse McCartney and DJ Pauly D. Their latest effort is dubbed In A World Like This Tour. Now on performing in China, the crew kicks off a 24-date U.S. leg at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois on August 2, 2013.

From there, it’s on to St. Louis, Toledo, Montreal, Toronto, Clarkston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Boston, Wantagh, Holmdel, Camden, Virginia Beach, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Grand Praire, The Woodlands, Phoenix, Irvine, Las Vegas.

The wrap is set for the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord, California on September 8, 2013. The boys then perform in Japan in October.

“The Backstreet Boys, also known as BSB, continue to be extremely popular across demographics. Part of this can be attributed to their two decade timeline, with many of their earliest fans now in their thirties like the boys themselves,” said Felina Martinez at online ticket marketplace

“That’s why we’re proud to be able to offer concert fans a complete and continuously refreshed selection of tickets, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase,” said Martinez.

Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993, the group consists of A. J. McLean (age 35), Howie Dorough (age 39), Nick Carter (age 33), Kevin Richardson (age 41) and Brian Littrell (age 38). The boys rose to fame with their debut album, Backstreet Boys, in 1996. They reached superstardom with their third studio album Millennium in 1999, and its follow-up Black & Blue in 2000.

BSB has received seven Grammy Award nominations, including four in 2000. Other accolades include two American Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Juno Award. This year’s road trip is tour number 12. Their first tour, We Want To Be With You, opened in 1995. (Source:
