Rubber Duck Labs Inc. has recently announced the launch of their second iPad app available in the Apple App Store.
DuckyCam has been developed with the use of pre-buffer video recording technology and social media networking capabilities.
DuckyCam is an interesting new take on an old obsession of parents: capturing every moment of a child's life on video, no matter how basic or extraordinary. But the makers of DuckyCam apparently understand how difficult it is to get the attention of a child, so while filming; the app is capable of making the sound of a variety of animals to entice the youngster on screen.
This app also allows expecting parents to monitor their own development, with the option of recording size developments of a 'baby bump.' Badges that show a child's age when the video was taken can be added to videos to commemorate milestones. When really magical moments are captured, users have the option of conveniently posting their results to Facebook for all of their friends and family to see.
"This app is awesome," says one user from the United Kingdom. "Already video-recording the bump and looking forward to recording all the nice moments once my baby arrives."
Here are the available features:
Play sounds to grab a child’s attention – Have an iPad sound like a duck, a dog, a cat, or a variety of other animals in order to catch the child’s attention. Once the child is looking at the camera, the recording can begin, capturing all of the golden moments. The video can then be saved and sent through different social media sites.
Add badges to chronicle baby bump size or child’s development – During each milestone of a child’s development, add a badge onscreen to commemorate the event. Use the pictures to share on Facebook, Twitter, or just keep them on the iPad for enjoyment.
Use the pre-buffer function – There's no reason to worry any time a golden opportunity is missed. DuckyCam automatically stores a few seconds of video in memory, giving the user the option to rewind a few seconds in the past if the special moment already passed. If the moment was missed by up to 10 seconds, then users can rewind and watch everything they thought they already missed.
DuckyCam is available for the iPad in the Apple App Store, and will give parents around the globe the ability and the opportunity to chronicle their child’s and their own development in a fun, interactive manner.
