Influence & Co. plans to involve publications and its clients in this philanthropic effort.
Columbia, MO (PRWEB) May 22, 2013
Influence & Co., a thought leadership and content marketing strategy firm, announces its new partnership with Reading is Fundamental, the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States.
Effective May 1, Influence & Co. will donate one book for every article the agency helps its clients get published. The books donated will benefit Reading is Fundamental’s flagship program, Books for Ownership. Books for Ownership distributes books to disadvantaged children; the books are selected for ownership by the children themselves to increase their interest in reading. This one-for-one structure ensures that Reading is Fundamental is able to distribute books to a greater number of America’s schoolchildren.
According to Reading is Fundamental’s site, their mission is to “prepare and motivate children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most.” The group pledges to inspire children to be “lifelong readers through the power of choice.”
Influence & Co. is dedicated to ensuring that people can share ideas and knowledge through the written word. The company is built upon the concept that sharing ideas can expand one’s influence and enable professionals to become connected with other influential individuals.
The company is committed to enabling more people to consume those ideas, making Reading is Fundamental a natural partnership choice. As Reading is Fundamental explains on its website, “Nearly two-thirds of low-income families in the U.S. own no books.” Influence & Co. was motivated to increase that number, and, subsequently, the number of readers nationwide.
Influence & Co. plans to involve publications and its clients in this effort. The firm will be updating clients on how many books they’ve personally helped donate, and badges will be provided to publications to display the number of books they’ve helped provide Reading is Fundamental with.
Influence & Co. is dedicated to helping others grow their influence, and as part of making a positive influence on their community, they have started this partnership. To expand that positive influence on their community, the leaders at Influence & Co. believe that the company should be donating time, as well as money, to this cause. In addition to this monetary gift with Reading is Fundamental, Influence & Co. will be taking their effort local. Independently, the company will volunteer at schools in its hometown, Columbia, Mo., to read to schoolchildren two hours per week.
