Access MediQuip, LLC, the nation's first and largest surgical and implant management company, announced today that it has expanded its national contract with WellPoint, Inc., one of the nation's largest health benefits companies, with more than 36 million members in its affiliated health plans and approximately 66 million individuals served through its subsidiaries.
WellPoint and Access MediQuip completed the industry's first national surgical implant management program agreement back in 2008. Under the terms of the new agreement, Access MediQuip will provide implant unit cost savings, data transparency, and improved quality and safety management.

Under the new agreement, Access MediQuip will work with stakeholders in the surgical benefits arena, including providers, surgical facilities and manufacturers, to help reduce costs and increase safety and quality management.
