original screens are now available

Leeds (PRWEB UK) 24 May 2013

On the 25th April 2013 Local10 reported that a series of businesses in Florida had been raided for claiming to use Apple parts. Local10 revealed that only Apple authorised repair centres can access Apple parts.

Ross Taylor, Director at iphone repair leeds, elaborates, “The imitation parts we sampled were of such an inferior finish we decided to suspend the iPhone 5 screen repair until we able to supply our customers with the OEM parts.”

Ross goes on to say, "original screens are now available as some companies have begun buying new iPhone’s for the purpose of disassembling them and reselling the individual parts at a profit; the upshot is that genuine parts have now been introduced into the supply chain"

Imitation parts have been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons; with the Department of Homeland Security raiding a series of repair shops in South Florida in the US. The shops in question were claiming to use Apple parts when in fact they were using fake parts made in China.

“Not all parts from China are bad quality, it just takes time for the manufacturing processe to improve, and with a new device like the iPhone 5 this may take some time,” explains Ross. The company indicated that some parts from China actually exceed OEM specification, with some iPad Digitisers containing glass that’s actually stronger than the original Apple part.

Ross said that repairing the iPhone 5 screen is a relatively simple procedure - that the only hurdle his company had experienced was sourcing a reliable and quality part. Prior to this the company had no other option but to remove the screens from the small quantity of new iPhone 5's it had in stock.

The company does not expect to be doing as many iPhone 5 repairs as the previous generation of Apples iPhone; “The iPhone 5 so far has proven to be extremely reliable, the glass is significantly tougher, and the overall design is much more robust. We consider it the most reliable smartphone released in the last few years."

Expecting a downturn in the number of screen repairs it carries out, the company has diversified its services by offering mac repairs, its new website Mac Repair Leeds has recently been launched.
