LA JOLLA, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2013
Liquid Grids, healthcare’s only All-in-One Social Marketing platform, today announced the release of its newest disease grid for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) adding to its library of over 20 major disease grids. The IBS grid provides key insights of the disease and the online community discussing it. Liquid Grids analyzed 275,000 highly relevant IBS social media posts over the past 3 months across Facebook, Twitter and the Blogosphere.
IBS is a chronic disease currently estimated to affect up to 55 million Americans. This newest grid report by Liquid Grids finds that on Facebook for example, 55% are female with 66% aged 18-55. By applying disease persona analytics Liquid Grids has determined the 35% discuss their symptoms and 49% mention the diagnosis of IBS. The most common terms associated with IBS were Constipation, Pain, Diet, Stress, Anxiety and Depression.
Of note, approximately 55% of consumers discuss treatments like peppermint, herbal remedies, probiotics but less than 2% mention specific pharmaceutical brands including recently approved Linzess®.
“The opportunity for pharmaceutical brands to gain visibility into this specific disease community is huge,” said Malcolm Bohm, CEO of Liquid Grids. “Our ability to determine where patients are in the disease pathway and target them with contextual, relevant disease information using our Direct to Persona model is revolutionary.”
The IBS Grid also provides a range of detailed characteristics of each social media community e.g. those on Facebook, Twitter and Blogs. A high level IBS word cloud, infographic and access to the detailed report is available on the Liquid Grids website.
