Private Detectives Preston gives information about spy equipment and gadgets in light of recent The Guardian Report by Severin Carrell Dated 20 May 2013: Scottish nightclub investigated over alleged spy mirror in women’s toilets

According to The Guardian report by Severin Carrell dated 20 May, Scottish nightclub investigated over alleged spy mirror in women’s toilets, Glasgow city council said it received complaints that the Shimmy nightclub had allegedly installed a spy mirror – without warning female guests – between the bathroom and function room. The licensing standards officers are investigating the matter along with Police Scotland.

The Guardian report goes on to say that a customer called Amy had been warned about the two way mirror and had left the bathroom and then became distressed when she saw that customers in the main room of the club could glimpse inside the women’s bathrooms. The main view of the women’s toilets was from private booths which were immediately adjacent to the mirror; however the mirror in the bathroom was over the basins and not in the cubicles.

The customer at the club called Amy said:
"Nowhere is it made clear that this is the case, so when visiting the bathroom for the first time, there are woman bending over the sink, pouting into the mirror to redo their lipstick, adjusting themselves personally whilst unknowingly being watched by people on the other side.”

Private Detectives Preston offer spy equipment and gadgets including two way mirrors, listening devices and hidden cameras. Two way mirrors make good security and surveillance aids while listening devices can pick up a conversation within the range of the device and hidden cameras can be fitted anywhere where security is needed, either at home or in the workplace. The use of spy equipment can have a really postivie effect on a case giving results that would be unobtainable without them.

A spokesperson from Private Detective Preston, Francis Savage said:
“This case seems quite alarming as it is unusual for a two-way mirror to be fitted in a Ladies bathroom. In my professional opinion it would be better for the club to move the mirrors to a place where they can be used for security.”
