Gilbane is pleased to announce today the promotion of William Gilbane, III to senior vice president and business unit manager overseeing the New York City, New Jersey, upstate New York and Puerto Rico teams.
“It’s been exciting to see Bill play such a key role in making Gilbane a prominent player in the New York market,” says Michael Bohn, Gilbane executive vice president. “His intimate knowledge of the construction industry and his understanding of our clients’ needs are what drive him to deliver the best solutions for our clients and business partners time after time.”
A member of Gilbane’s fifth generation, Bill has been exposed to the company and its values throughout his entire life. He joined Gilbane full-time in 2002 as a member of the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center building team. He has since worked in a number of roles including his most recent, vice president of business development, where he has been instrumental in the expansion of the Company’s presence in the New York and New Jersey markets. In the last five years, Gilbane’s New York business unit has been responsible for several notable projects including Albany Medical Center, New York City Rapid Repairs Program for Hurricane Sandy, Kings Theater, University of Buffalo Medical School and the Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital and Skilled Nursing Facility.
Bill is a trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission, serves on the New York Building Foundation board and is on the executive committees for the ACE Mentor Program and the Construction Management Association of America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Management from New York University.
