Guy Hepner presents Welcome to the Future, a group exhibition of new work by five emerging artists at the cutting edge of their respective genres. Showing throughout the month of June, digital imaging, neon sculpture, street art graffiti and mixed media photography combine in technical assessment of the post pop movement. The unique, tablet drawn collage works of Jimi sit alongside the hyper realistic paintings of Philippe Huart, juxtaposed by the neon sculptures of FTA Collective.
Gallery CEO Guy Hepner comments “It’s important to periodically focus on pushing new talent into the spotlight. Alongside our strong blue chip programme of established, museum quality artists, we strive to find and cultivate the talent of tomorrow that will one day sit alongside them”
One of the highlights of the exhibit is “Exotic Superflat Red” by James Georgopoulos, an exact to scale abstraction of a Ferrari 458 Italia, including paint finish and badges. Venice based artist James Georgopoulos described it as the most painstaking challenge of his career, taking over six months to complete.
Notable for his inclusion in the show is up and coming LA based street artist Alec Monopoly. Having found notoriety for his graffiti images throughout the city of the monopoly man, a social commentary on the economic crisis, he has now begun to focus on gallery based work. This show with be the first time the painting of Alec Monopoly is included at Guy Hepner.
