Brian Paulson, owner of CSI Accounting Services, today announced that he and his firm were honored at the recent PASBA (Professional Association of Small Business Accountants) awards ceremony hosted in Palm Springs, California. Paulson was one of only five small business professionals recognized. Paulson received the prestigious “Accounting Firm & Accountant of the Year” accolade within the Large Firm category.

“Brian Paulson was nominated by his fellow PASBA members to receive this outstanding award, which honors a member who has consistently demonstrated the beliefs of the association’s motto—Teach, Share, Learn. Brian has been a dedicated member of PASBA for several years, and he currently serves on the PASBA Board of Directors as President Elect and will assume the role of President in May 2014,” said Shelley Klein, PASBA Executive Director.

Award winners are nominated by their fellow PASBA members. The board then reviews nominations to determine winners within three categories—Small, Medium, and Large Firm. Award recipients represent the best of the best of small business owners—that is, those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership within the accounting profession and are committed to sharing their expertise and knowledge to ensure the advancement of the profession as a whole.

“I was incredibly honored to receive this award. There are so many notable leaders within PASBA who work consistently to enhance the tax and accounting industry and ensure it’s always moving forward. To be nominated by my peers was exciting; to win was an honor beyond words,” Paulson stated.

Brian Paulson accepted the award at the 7th annual PASBA awards ceremony on May 15, 2013, in Palm Springs, California.
