Allowing customers to share product pages with their social networks is a great way for Internet retailers and multi-channel merchants to bring in more traffic and find new customers

Morse Data Corporation, developers of InOrder Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, has announced four new features to its real-time eCommerce Web shopping cart. With this software update, Web customers of Internet retailers and multi-channel merchants using InOrder can share online product pages with social media websites and estimate their shipping amount and delivery times. International customers can set their preferred shopping currency.

With the social sharing feature, the default InOrder shopping cart is integrated with the AddThis sharing service. This feature allows Web customers to share pages from online stores with their friends and family on social media sites, such as Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. With the shipping feature, estimated shipping rates and delivery times are displayed during checkout for Web customers who are logged into the web cart. Summary totals are updated as new items are added to the cart.

InOrder users who ship to customers in other countries can now allow Web shoppers to set their preferred currency. Once a currency is selected, product prices are automatically displayed in the selected currency using current exchange rates. This important update simplifies the shopping process for customers and increases the likelihood of them completing the purchase process.

“Allowing customers to share product pages with their social networks is a great way for Internet retailers and multi-channel merchants to bring in more traffic and find new customers. Automatically calculating shipping rates in real time allows shoppers to see how much they’re spending as they shop – which can help reduce shopping cart abandonment rates,” says Tony Marchese, Morse Data VP. “We’re very pleased with these new features and how they’ll aid our customers in improving sales and their customers’ online shopping experiences.”
