HealthSmart continues to grow through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Its expanding national presence has required the hiring of new talent in several areas, including Account Management.
HealthSmart is pleased to announce that Dawn Powell has joined the organization effective April 28, 2013. She is serving as the Director of Account Management in the Central Region and is based in the HealthSmart Corporate offices in Irving, Texas. With extensive client management, employee benefits, and product development experience, she will be a tremendous addition in leading HealthSmart’s Account Management Team. Prior to joining HealthSmart, she served in various capacities with Aon Corporation and Lockton Benefits. She has a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University and has served on multiple boards representing employee benefits and the education industry.
HealthSmart is also pleased to announce the addition of three new Account Executives who will serve its clients located throughout the country. Karla Hernandez comes to HealthSmart from Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. She has over 10 years of experience in the self-funded, employee benefit business. Heather Robb was most recently with HMS, a Dallas based company, offering cost containment services. She also worked with Humana for over 10 years. Julie Jackson, Senior Account Executive, returns to HealthSmart and will lead a team that serves TribalCare customers―a specialized segment of HealthSmart’s business focused on American Indian Nations. Julie brings more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare and employee benefits industry.
