We are encouraged by the number of people from diverse professional backgrounds who have become loyal users of our content, said Judi Israel Rosen, publisher of The Medicare NewsGroup.

The Medicare NewsGroup (MNG), an independent resource for Medicare news and information, has launched Medicare NewsDigest, a new website to serve the health care industry, policymakers and researchers with an interest in Medicare, the publisher announced today. The new site will operate in tandem with medicarenewsgroup.com, the original website that serves journalists.

In addition to some of MNG’s most popular content, including hundreds of Medicare FAQs, Beyond the Sound Bite, and original reporting, Medicare NewsDigest (medicarenewsdigest.com) has three additional features that are specifically designed to help those beyond the world of journalism place daily Medicare news in context. Every article is accompanied by an Essential Briefing, which gives the reader a rapid sense of the issue at hand, including key facts and critical areas for discussion. Learn More takes the reader deeper into the topic than popular news coverage, with links to related articles and information. Hot Topics provides a series of in-depth monthly reports on topics important to Medicare’s future.

“We are encouraged by the number of people from diverse professional backgrounds who have become loyal users of our content,” said Judi Israel Rosen, publisher of The Medicare NewsGroup. “To best serve some of these audiences and maintain the deep resources journalists have come to rely on, we believe that two sites are better than one.”

Some of the new audiences for MedicareNewsDigest.com include not-for-profits, agencies, health care providers, industry leaders, policymakers and others whose day-to-day work depends on being informed on the latest information about the complex world of Medicare.

MedicareNewsDigest.com content is written by MedicareNewsGroup.com staff, who continue their commitment to informing journalists who write about Medicare. In a little more than a year since its launch in April 2012, MedicareNewsGroup.com has become the go-to source for reporters, writers, bloggers and editors who produce news and commentary on Medicare. The original site will remain and retain the assets that have been supporting journalists in producing high-quality, informed content.

The new site launch correlates with a redesign of MNG’s popular daily e-newsletter, Medicare Matters, which includes the day's most relevant stories and related links and information.
“We continue on this journey to inform the public on issues critical to Medicare,” said E. J. Mitchell, Medicare NewsGroup’s managing editor. “A more enlightened public means a more candid and honest conversation about the future of Medicare in America.”

About The Medicare NewsGroup: The Medicare NewsGroup is an independent resource for Medicare news, information and research. The organization’s goal is to provide a foundation of well-organized information from a variety of perspectives so that those interested in developing a greater understanding of Medicare have a basis from which to write, report, research, create policy and do business.
