Most Brits know the map of Europe well, easily naming well over half of the countries.
London (PRWEB UK) 23 May 2013
http://www.quizfactor.com, the UK's largest quiz site, asked respondents how many European countries they could name and the results are surprising. Lionel Thain, CEO at Quizfactor.com comments, "We had anticipated that the scores for naming European countries would be quite low, it is hard to name all 46, from Austria to the Vatican City. But in fact most Brits know the map of Europe well, easily naming well over half of the countries. Perhaps this is because Europe is so much more accessible to us now, if you look at the top ten most recognised European countries, most of these are the popular holiday spots."
Quizfactor.com ran the map quiz (http://www.quizfactor.com/quiz/countries-of-europe/11412) on their hugely popular quiz site, showing players a map of Europe with the countries marked out. Against the clock, entrants identified the countries. The top ten most commonly recognised countries in Europe are France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Poland and Belgium. The least recognised are Belarus, Montenegro, Macedonia, Moldova, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein and Vatican City.
