These events are not only about getting out there and having a great time, but about raising money for important industry initiatives.

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Foundation announces that final preparations are underway for three of the most highly anticipated fundraising events of the MPI World Education Congress (WEC) 2013 in Las Vegas: The Players Golf Tournament, The Big Deal and Rendezvous.

Planners and suppliers can expect the caliber of events as well as the networking opportunities to measure up to Las Vegas-size proportions. The chance to mix and mingle with colleagues may be the spark that transforms a night of networking into long-term business relationships.

“As a multi-year sponsor, we have seen our investment in these events pay off. The connections we make at these events inevitably result in new business,” says Phil Cooper, chief executive officer of Encore Productions.

The Vegas Treatment
The Players Golf Tournament takes place at one of America’s top golf courses, Rio Secco Golf Club, on July 20. This Ryder Club-style tournament welcomes all skill levels to play this classic Rees Jones-designed course that is home to the number one golf instructor in the world, Butch Harmon. This VIP golf experience includes special events at many holes, including the Caesars Entertainment’s Hole-in-One contest where a player has a chance to win $1 million. A tournament awards luncheon, sponsored by PSAV, rounds out the day.

The Big Deal returns for its fourth year on July 21 at Caesars Palace. One tournament player will win a trip back to Las Vegas and a $10,000 seat at the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event. All attendees will experience a night of high-rolling fun, world-class entertainment and high stakes networking. Admission is free for planners.

“These events are not only about getting out there and having a great time, but about raising money for important industry initiatives,” says Michael Massari, senior vice president for Caesars Entertainment. “As a host sponsor of The Big Deal, we are thrilled to support the MPI Foundation in its fundraising efforts.”

In addition to Caesars Entertainment, The Big Deal host sponsors include Encore Productions and Hilton Worldwide.

Rendezvous takes place 51 stories above Las Vegas at the VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on July 22. MPI Foundation’s signature event sports a 1970s theme--attendees are encouraged to dress retro ‘70s style--but the networking opportunities are all focused on the future. Rendezvous sponsors are San Francisco Travel, Universal Orlando, and Benchmark Hospitality International.

The Players Golf Tournament, The Big Deal and Rendezvous are three of MPI Foundation’s most highly attended fundraising events. All funds raised are invested in results-oriented initiatives that shape the future and bring success to the meeting and event community. Over the past three years, the MPI Foundation has raised $1.7 million. For more information on these events, visit http://www.mpiweb.org/wec.
