Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds to Perform at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Jazz Festival

“The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach provides an intimate setting for a special three-day festival of jazz, R&B and adult contemporary, and the summer concert series" said Vicki Higgins, Executive VP and CMO of Newport Beach & Co.

Celebrate the final weeks of spring with a star-studded festival of food, fun, and electrifying music at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Jazz Festival Friday May 31, through Sunday June 2.

Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Al Jarreau, and Brian Culbertson lead an accomplished list of artists playing the event. South African native Jonathan Butler kicks off the festival Friday night at the Back Bay amphitheater at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.

The festival heads down to the Back Bay Golf Course at the resort Saturday and Sunday for two jam-packed days of smooth jazz, R&B, and adult contemporary music. And while the artists are showcasing their talents on stage, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach staff will lift the curtain to reveal the finished $15 million renovation.

“With this complete renovation, the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach brings an exciting ‘new’ resort-style offering to the world-class destination of Newport Beach, California,” said Daniel Kuperschmid, General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. “No other property on the coast offers our unique combination of historic charm and modern-day luxury amenities, combined with unparalleled outdoor recreation and relaxation opportunities.”

One of Newport Beach’s most esteemed resorts since 1962, the landmark Hyatt Regency Newport Beach received a complete reinvention that encompassed all aspects of the property – from the grand front drive, porte-cochère, and lobby to its 407 guest rooms and suites, to its pools, extensive grounds, and restaurants.

“The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach provides an intimate setting for a special three-day festival of jazz, R&B and adult contemporary, and the summer concert series. The resort’s recent renovation shows the commitment that Newport Beach properties are making to deliver the ultimate destination experience,” said Vicki Higgins, Executive VP and CMO of Newport Beach & Co.
