Jackson, WY (PRWEB) May 23, 2013
Summer camps have been a long tradition on America’s eastern coastline. School gets out, the weather warms up and youth from the city flock to the sanctuary of the mountains and seaside. This summer, Wilderness Ventures is leading seven different teen adventure camps on the East Coast for youth from 6th to 12th grade.
For the last four decades, Wilderness Ventures has provided young travelers life-altering experiences in some of the world's most magnificent outdoor settings. Their trip categories range from Introductory Adventures for Wilderness Ventures youngest students to adventures that focus on teen leadership, community service, international cultural immersion, foreign language and cycling adventures. With departure locations in Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine, Wilderness Ventures teen adventure camps are easily accessible for students throughout the region.
On Wilderness Ventures’ 2013 east coast teen summer camps students have the opportunities like: hiking Mt. Mitchell – the highest point east of the Mississippi River, backpacking through the Adirondack and Green Mountains of Upstate New York, or cycling through Maine’s Acadia National Park. Each adventure has an incredibly diverse itinerary of once-in-a-lifetime experiences for young people. The seven trips offered on the East Cost in 2013 are:
- New England Leadership Adventure
- Cape Code Bicycle Tour
- Vermont Bicycle Tour
- Nova Scotia Acadia Bicycle Tour
- Blue Ridge Leadership Adventure
- Adirondack Explorer – Introductory Adventure
- Pittsburgh to DC Bicycle Trip – Introductory Adventure
On each adventure, participants will experience national parks protected wilderness areas along their routes. They’ll also participate in multisport activities along the way like kayaking, rock climbing and more. Travelers sleep in small two person tents separated by gender, hostels and local community centers. The group will also cook most of their meals with a few restaurant visits along the way.
