Horsham, Pa (PRWEB) May 23, 2013
Toll Brothers City Living®, the urban development division of Toll Brothers, Inc., (NYSE: TOL) (http://www.Tollbrothers.com), announces that it will be honored at the upcoming Building Brooklyn Awards on July 10th in the Residential - Multi-Family category for the condominium building, 205 Water. The loft-style condominium is located in the heart of Brooklyn’s historic DUMBO neighborhood, surrounded by a striking landscape of industrial-era architecture, which played a large part in inspiring the building’s design. 205 Water was well-received, selling out in less than one year and receiving much praise from both the design and real estate communities alike.
“We are ecstatic about this honor from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce,” said David Von Spreckelsen, NYC City Living Division President. “205 Water was a real labor of love for us and I am very proud to have taken part in the development of such a great building.”
The design of the building reflects both the area’s rich history and a timeless contemporary sensibility, so that it blends seamlessly into the eclectic streetscape. Inside, common areas draw on the post-industrial aesthetic of the Historic District. Floors are inlaid with decorative steel plates inspired by the embedded steel rails, curbs, and covers found in the surrounding streets and sidewalks. Recycled lumber, drawn from the Coney Island boardwalk and used as a warm accent material, were inspired by the utilitarian woodwork of factory landscape freight pallets, heavy timbers, and water tanks. The building achieved LEED gold certification, and is one of the most ecologically responsible buildings ever developed by Toll Brothers City Living.
The Company currently has a number of new condominium buildings in different stages of development throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, including:
- 160 East 22nd, a modern condominium residence of just 81 homes in the heart of the Gramercy Park neighborhood of Manhattan. 160 East 22nd is currently open for sale.
- 400 Park Avenue South, a 40-story building located at the corner of Park Avenue South and 28th Street in Manhattan, in partnership with Equity Residential. The building, designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, will feature approximately 99 luxury Toll Brothers condominiums starting on the 23rd floor of the building above a base of rental apartments, retail, and amenities.
- Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park, will offer one-of-a-kind condominiums that feature unobstructed Manhattan views and duplex layouts with 18-foot double height living spaces, reminiscent of townhomes in Brooklyn Heights. Residents will enjoy resort-style amenities, a beautifully landscaped, waterfront park, and easy access to Wall Street, Midtown Manhattan, and the rest of Brooklyn. The development is a joint venture with Starwood Capital, and will also feature a 200 room eco-luxury 1 brand Hotel.
Additionally, the Company is developing a number of new properties across the Hudson River in Hoboken, New Jersey, including 1100 Maxwell Place, a magnificent full-service condominium in Hoboken’s premier waterfront community, Maxwell Place. 1100 Maxwell Place offers 210 modern condominium residences with an unrivaled collection of amenities, including a rooftop pool, a fitness center, and two rooftop lounges with multiple grilling stations, an outdoor screening area, and an open-air fireplace.
