This age-old rivalry received fresh fuel thanks to Sergio Garcia's comments in the early rounds at the tournament known as the "fifth major". Sergio's claim that Tiger distracted him during his downswing at the 2nd hole has been both upheld and disputed by several officials who witnessed the scene. The post-round comments from the pair included a reply from Tiger stating "I'm not really surprised he's complaining about something." The week was capped off by the high drama of both players being in contention for the win as the final three holes approached. Tiger Woods fans celebrated and Sergio Garcia fans could only shake their heads as Sergio began his epic collapse at the 17th hole. His first shot found the water hazard and missed the famed island green. His second shot found the water again and he would go on to card a quadruple bogey, assuring he would not have a chance at winning the tournament. Deflated, he continued on to the 18th hole, teed off and again found the drink. He would score a double bogey on 18, finishing his final two holes at 6 over par. Tiger of course won the tournament.

The feud reached new heights this week with Sergio's incendiary comment reported by several media outlets as "We'll have him 'round every night, we will serve fried chicken." Fsergio.com doesn't see this story going away any time soon as the hear of the golf season, the US Open is only a few weeks away. Media outlets will continue to report on this story as long as the two players continue to contend into the weekend of major tournaments as expected.
