Philadelphia Insurance Companies Donates $50,000 to Help Tornado Victims

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), a leading property/casualty and professional liability insurance company for niche markets, is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts following the devastating tornadoes in the Midwest. PHLY announced the pledge today during the “Operation Brotherly Love” KYW-TV CBS 3 telethon.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the people affected by these disasters and our admiration goes out to all of the volunteers and first responders who bravely come to the aid of their neighbors in times like this,” shared Bob O’Leary, President and CEO of Philadelphia Insurance Companies.    

PHLY employees are also making donations to the Red Cross and collecting items for the people impacted by the severe weather in the Midwest. The Company will host a link on its website where its business partners and the public can make donations.

“We know we can depend on Philadelphia Insurance to stand with us so we can honor our commitment to be there for our neighbors in times of disaster,” said Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes, CEO of the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter.

PHLY partnered with members of the Tokio Marine Group in 2012 to donate over $195,000 to the Red Cross following Hurricane Sandy.
