"The music for Carl Fisher's story evolves from the poignant simplicity of what he dreamed Indy could be to orchestral grandeur as his dreams took shape,” says Sandblast Productions composer Loren Toolajian.

ABC will televise the Indianapolis 500 for the 49th consecutive year on Sunday, May 26 starting at 11 am. The telecast opens with the story of Carl Fisher, the American entrepreneur and racing enthusiast, who founded the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1909.
The action begins as Fisher surveys his farm land and envisions the greatest automobile racetrack in the world. The story combines live action and computer generated imagery as Fisher reflects on his accomplishment and looks towards the future.
The piece celebrates special moments in Indy 500 history, and is narrated by television and film actor Dylan Baker of The Good Wife as the voice of Carl Fisher.
Sandblast Productions composer Loren Toolajian wrote and produced the music for the opening sequence. "In telling Carl's story, the music needed to be a combination of poignant simplicity as he first dreamed of what Indy could be, and then driving orchestral grandeur as he saw his dreams take shape,” says Toolajian. “It's a challenge to meld those sonic worlds together, but I'm thrilled about how this piece, ‘ Indy Dreams,’ sounds. The music is evocative, from beginning to end.”
Toolajian worked closely with ESPN producer Matthew Ruhe, director Ben Orisich, writer Barrett Esposito, graphic artist Miguel Oldenburg and SandBlast's own senior mixer and sound designer Ralph Kelsey. This creative team won a “Gold World Medal” from New York Festivals® International Television & Film Awards™ for its 2012 Indy 500 tease “In the Moment.” Video editor Chris Wagner cut this year's “Indy Dreams” with sound design and mixing from Sandblast's Ralph Kelsey.
