"In what seemed like an instant but was probably hours, we arrived and my Mom got a necklace of flowers, my Sis got one too, me and Dad we got beaded. Then a man with a cart asked if assistance was needed?"

Magic often happens unexpectedly. "Howie Goes to Maui," an online comic book describing the exploits of precocious twin five-year olds, Howie and his sister Heather, at Four Seasons Resort Maui, is just such a case in point. May 23, 2013 marks the debut of “Howie Goes to Maui” and is timed to coincide with the start of the Resort's "WeTime/MeTime” program, a unique summer travel experience combining family adventures, tons of amenities and, most precious of all, opportunities for children and parents to have time together and for parents to have time for themselves.
Four Seasons Resort Maui's director of marketing Mark Simon explains the magic: "Family travel packages abound in Hawaii. But we knew that beyond the family activities, there are the parents – many of whom desperately need some relaxing and even romantic time together sans kids. The Resort’s new “WeTime/MeTime” program offers exactly that.”
Mark Simon collaborated with Danny Zuker, a three-time Emmy award-winning Hollywood producer to tell the story of the Resort's new program. According to Simon, “Danny first discovered the resort while writing the script for an episode of the top-rated TV show, Modern Family. He and his family have vacationed here a number of times and, based on his first-hand experiences, he penned this 20-page rhyming comic book in a style reminiscent of the best Dr. Seuss classics and as told through the eyes of the five-year olds.” Simon asked Chicago illustrator John Gregg to give the characters a visual life. “These characters, with their vibrant faces and ready-for-adventure smiles, will definitely captivate guests of all ages," says Simon.
In this first comic book, Howie and Heather are introduced to the Resort. In one passage, wide-eyed Howie explains: "In what seemed like an instant but was probably hours, we arrived and my Mom got a necklace of flowers, my Sis got one too, me and Dad we got beaded. Then a man with a cart asked if assistance was needed?"
Plans are in the works to offer special "Howie and Heather T-shirts, room amenities and hard-copy comic books to the Resort’s young guests.
The “WeTime/MeTime” program offers families an extensive range of shared special experiences, services and amenities—most gratis—that set the stage for building lifetime family memories. Customized itineraries can be arranged for children and teens – leaving the parents the time to enjoy, relax, and refresh. That’s the “MeTime.”
