With the ski season in Europe only a few months’ away, snow enthusiasts are given the news that two brand new gondolas are set to be opened this weekend at the Dachstein Glacier in Austria after a month’s closure. The centre is due to re-open with a new terrain park called ‘Superpark Dachstein’ for summer skiing and boarding this weekend.

Crystal Ski offer their customers an exclusive ski package, known as Crystal Ski Plus

The terrain park has been closed since 15 April while crews worked around the clock to build the new lifts. On 18 May, the new look Superpark Dachstein will incorporate a beginner park and a pro jib line with two routes allowing creative rail combinations. The size of the kicker line will be adjusted to the warm summer temperatures so that, despite the potential for slush, safe jumps are still guaranteed.

One of the first events of the summer snowpark season will be the O’Neill Girls Shred Session on 25 May 2013 and several other events will follow during the next few months. Austria have a fine selection of festivals and events before and during the winter season, namely Snowbombing and the Altitude comedy festival.

For those wanting a lively après-ski and nightlife scene, the Hotel Rubin in Söll in the Austrian Tirol is available from £668 per adult based on four sharing for seven nights. The hotel is located above two of the well known bars within the resort, ‘Red Horse’ and ‘Sports Bar’, which are open to late. A short one-minute-walk will take you into the resort centre.

More skiers and snowboarders went to Austria last season than the previous winter and they love events and the après-ski scene in the Austrian ski resorts. To make it more affordable, Crystal Ski offer their customers an exclusive ski package, known as Crystal Ski Plus. This allows them to have their flights, transfers, accommodation, ski/board hire or carriage and lift pass in one package. For the 2013/14 ski season why not stay a week including half board at the four-star Hotel Rauriserhof in Rauris, Austria, with prices from £749 per adult based on four sharing. The hotel has a central location and only a five-minute-walk will take you to the resort centre. Also included in the price are daily afternoon après ski snacks, a candlelit walk, a weekly bowling evening and a sleigh ride.
