With money and credit tight these days, there is a heightened emphasis on making informed financial decisions. For most consumers, however, time is nearly always in short supply. To help people satisfy their need for information in the little time they have available, Cambridge Credit Counseling has developed Personal Finance 120, an interactive financial literacy program. Personal Finance 120 provides information about personal money management in less than 2 minutes per episode. The program replaces Cambridge’s successful Your Money 2.0 program, which ran for 150 installments between 2009 and 2012.
“Two minutes may not sound like a lot, but you’d be surprised how much helpful information can be conveyed in a short time frame,” noted Thomas Fox, Cambridge’s Community Outreach Director. “The goal of the program is to ‘start the conversation’ on a variety of topics. Two minutes is more than enough to plant a seed that can grow.”
Personal Finance 120 will be supported by a similarly themed blog that will expand upon the topic of each week’s video. These blog posts will offer additional education, as well as important resources for people to use in their own research.
“Our mission is to help people make informed financial decisions, but we’re cognizant of the fact that life can be hectic at times,” remarked Christopher Viale, Cambridge’s President and CEO. “Personal Finance 120 is a great opportunity to meet the needs of the public and help them create momentum toward financial success.”
