The Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce named Carla Epp, Owner of New Life Tanning Centers, 2013 Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The awards program recognizes young professionals, who through their entrepreneurship have transformed economies, driven innovation and changed communities. Epp was selected by members of the Small Business Recognition Committee, and the award was presented at a special gala event at the Rivermill Event Centre on May 23rd.
Epp, who purchased New Life in 2000 and opened a second location in 2003, received the award during the 2013 Small Business Week Recognition Gala. “There are so many young entrepreneurs who are worthy of this award and I am humbled to be chosen as a recipient,” exclaimed Epp during her acceptance speech. After thanking her staff, parents and mentor for their support, Epp talked about the importance of clients and the community. “Businesses may start with an idea, but they really begin and end with people. I am so thankful for the support of people in this community for the past 27 years.”
