KC and Monica Craichy, Founders of Living Fuel, Inc., are the Title Sponsors for FreeRide836. Their oldest sons, Kyle and Austin Craichy, will be kiteboarding with members of the Mark and Tracey Russell family and several professional kiteboarders.
KC Craichy said he is excited to be involved in this amazing project. "This has miraculously come together such that virtually everyone who planned to be involved is going to be able to participate."
20 kite boarders will meet at Matheson Hammock Park and Beach in Miami at 8am to begin their ride to Islamorada, a trip that will take them 6-8 hours. They include Chase, Holt and Trey Russell, along with Kyle and Austin Craichy.
"I am really excited to be able to have so much fun tackling such a big challenge for such an amazing cause," Kyle Craichy said. His brother Austin is also excited to be on the FreeRide836 team. "It is really cool to be able to do something I love to help kids who are in need."
FreeRide836 is the brainchild of Mark Russell. He explained how the fundraiser got its name.
"Growing up in Miami as an old school windsurfer, I would jump in my car, head on the 836 expressway and make my way to the beach. The waters of Key Biscayne, Virginia Key, Matheson Hammock, and the FL Keys gave my soul the freedom it longed for. My love for windsurfing evolved into kite surfing as I grew older. I now share my passion with my three sons."
100% of the funds raised will build the first home of a self-sustaining orphanage in Tanzania which will care for parentless, homeless children in a family style atmosphere. Mark Russell, his sons, and his team are seeking individual and corporate sponsorships to raise more than $50,000. Each $15.00 contribution will purchase one square foot of the self-sustaining orphanage. Donations can be made through their website at http://www.freeride836.com. All proceeds will go directly to Orphan’s Heart, a tax deductible 501(C)(3) organization. “This will not only be an exciting ride, but a ride with a purpose. One with life changes at the core of its motivation,” said Mark Russell.
Powered by Living Fuel, The Leader in Superfood Nutrition, the first annual Freeride836 kite boarding fundraiser is an outpouring of concern, commitment, and a little obsession to ride, live, and give to others. All funds raised will go directly to Orphan’s Heart, a 501(C)(3) organization that feeds, clothes, and shelters children worldwide.
