With a nearly 40-year history of manufacturing custom, reliable battery packs, we’re pleased to share our expertise with attendees at Battery Power this year.

Palladium Energy, Inc. (Palladium), a leading manufacturer of custom lithium-based battery packs, battery chargers and power supplies, will share its expertise at Battery Power 2013 in Denver on June 6. The company’s senior business development manager, Monika Minarcin, will lead a session for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineers and other battery professionals entitled, “What we can learn from the automotive world of lithium-ion batteries.”

While the automotive industry is considered the first test market for larger lithium-ion battery packs, there are lessons engineers and other battery professionals can glean from the automotive industry and apply to the small format pack world. The presentation will discuss the safety standards of large format packs, which require disciplined engineering, cell performance understanding, consistent performance and regulatory challenges. In addition, the session will address the synergies between large and small format battery packs, including primary divers, duty cycles, useable energy, charging and commodity factors.

With more than 17 years of electrical/controls engineering, project management and product development expertise at automotive companies like General Motors and Ford Motor Company, Minarcin guides Palladium’s medium and large format business development efforts.

“As commercial and industrial battery applications increase in size and complexity, the duty cycles will also start to look more and more like electric-based vehicle batteries,” Minarcin said. “That’s a chief reason why engineers should glean best practices and pitfalls from the automotive industry, which is arguably the fastest growing lithium battery market.”

“Each year, our team looks forward to attending Battery Power – one of the stronger events in our industry,” said Dr. Like Xie, Palladium’s vice president and chief technical advisor. “With a nearly 40-year history of manufacturing custom, reliable battery packs, we’re pleased to share our expertise with attendees at Battery Power this year.”
