“Delivering digital content to an audience as dedicated, engaged, and digitally-savvy as Dwell’s is not a linear process, Brandon’s proven track record in commerce technology, uniquely qualifies him to carry on Dwell’s mission with expertise.

Dwell Media LLC announces the hire of Yahoo Commerce VP, Brandon Huff as Executive Vice President of Digital for Dwell Media. At Yahoo, Huff ran its commerce business units, which represented a large portion of Yahoo's global media business. At Dwell, Huff will lead digital growth as Dwell develops a fully-integrated commerce unit to launch in 2014. Huff brings with him a decade of experience monetizing digital content for leading firms in Silicon Valley. Dwell, which has always led its category by leveraging social media and commerce partnerships, will tap Huff to expand and monetize the digital assets of the well-respected design brand.
“Brandon brings the perfect blend of vision and strategy, along with the razor-sharp intellect of a seasoned CTO,” says Dwell’s President Michela O’Connor Abrams. “Delivering digital content to an audience as dedicated, engaged, and digitally-savvy as Dwell’s is not a linear process, Brandon’s proven track record in commerce and a career immersed in cutting-edge technology, uniquely qualifies him to carry on Dwell’s mission with expertise and efficiency.”
Dwell is an established player in the digital space with its design-savvy consumers spending more and more time searching, sourcing, and shopping online. Last December Dwell launched the first shoppable magazine with partner AHAlife, sponsored solely by Mastercard. The print issue integrated augmented reality, which enabled readers to buy products directly from the printed catalogue through an image recognition e-commerce application on their mobile phones.
Huff believes that Dwell is in an excellent position to augment its current digital initiatives by leveraging its vast archive of catalogued products and authentic brand value within the modern design industry. He will be responsible for further developing retail initiatives; to collaborate and lead the digital strategy as it regards content distribution; and be a thought leader within the industry that drives home the message that Dwell is fully optimized for the digital world.
"I think it is common to think of a digital transformation as being a separate, discreet process where the goal seems to be to create something new and different; but I like to think about this more as leveraging all the great work that has gotten the business and brand where it is today, getting very focused on what we will do and not do moving forward, and building into the future," says Huff.
Dwell will begin to roll out its commerce initiatives in early 2014.
