The Minnesota Vikings addressed a lot of their needs in this year’s 2013 NFL Draft. In fact, the Vikings had three first round selections this year, all of which filled important roles on the team. The Vikings needed to find rookies to play defensive tackle, cornerback, and wide receiver. They selected the 23rd pick Sharrif Floyd, 25th pick Xavier Rhodes, and 29th pick Cordarrelle Patterson to fill the spots, respectively. One spot the team has not yet filled yet is middle linebacker, a position where some outstanding players have played, making it a big shoe to fill. Although there is no current player for this position, they do have a few options. Their number one potential player is Erin Henderson, who has been a weak side linebacker for the Vikings for the past two years. Their second possible pick for middle linebacker is Tyrone McKenzie, who signed with the team in 2011. McKenzie has some injuries history, and has only one-year experience. It is likely that the coaching staff will choose Henderson, but if that doesn’t work out McKenzie is a good second choice.
