Zamansky & Associates LLC has filed a FINRA arbitration on behalf of several investors against brokerage firm, Investors Capital Corporation (“ICC”), which has a branch office located in Melville, New York. The case is FINRA No. TN. 1300544.
The Statement of Claim in the arbitration alleges that ICC financial advisor, Haran Brucker, solicited several investors to invest in an unsuitable, aggressive trading strategy. The Statement of Claim alleges that the trading was excessive and focused on risky stocks that were not suitable for the investors. The Statement of Claim further alleges that Brucker misled the investors about the risks associated with the strategy, and that ICC failed to properly supervise Brucker and the accounts.
According to Jake Zamansky, “Financial advisors have a duty to recommend investments that are suitable for the customer’s needs, not engage in risky trading to further the advisor’s commissions. Brokerage firms have duties to supervise trading in their customers’ accounts as well as the activity of their financial advisors.” Zamansky cautions that “any brokerage customer of Investors Capital Corporation or Haran Brucker should have their account reviewed by an experienced professional.”
