Faceplant Boardriders is quickly gaining popularity amongst longboarders all over, especially on the East Coast. If one is looking to step up their riding game this summer, look no further than Faceplant Boardriders. Faceplant has gone the extra mile to create longboard skateboards which simulate the riding sensations associated with all backgrounds of boardsports, especially snowboarding and surfing. They handcraft over thirty, yes thirty, different shapes with individually customized artwork for each deck produced. The best feature of Faceplant boards is the durability which they possess, and are amongst most responsive decks on the market. Baltic Birch is the wood of choice for all Faceplant Boardriders’ longboards. They use a marine grade epoxy resin for the adhesive, pissing off curbs and parking structure walls everywhere.

Faceplant Boardriders has also started up their own wheel company called WheelRZ to complete their longboards with. They are also becoming popular amongst progressive longboarders pushing their limits. With twice the smoothness of Abec 11s or Orangatang’s, Wheelrz performance wheels seal the deal on making Faceplant Boardriders longboards the best set-ups on the market. Oh, and by the way, their team happens to consist of some amazing riders that always turn heads in every event they skate in. Faceplant Boardriders has quite a few key shapes, and a few more upon release this summer. They are always on the forefront of new longboard designs, and this summer expect to see some amazing progressive shapes to come from Faceplant Boardriders.

The Double Blunt has been the mainstay for FB andis a twin shaped drop-through deck with moderate concave and slightly turned up/wedged tips making it a rockered board. This longboard was built with a snowboard stance in mind, with a standing platform as wide as a park snowboard stance (23-25 inches) making it so easy to set the rider’s feet; this is perfect for laying down slides at high speeds. The narrower width of this board allows for heels and toes to just barely overhang the platform making stand up slides easier. The drop-through design makes this board easy to push up to speed quickly and gives the shredder a low center of gravity for more control while riding.

The Pow Surfer is one of the most versatile progressive longboard decks around and has just been released this Spring of ‘13. It is the downhill/freeriders go to deck with solid concave features designed to keep the rider comfortably glued to the board whether the rider is making downhill runs or showcasing their freeride steez. Dream of fresh powder lines in the summer and hop on the Pow Surfer and drop some local hills.

The Thrill Ride has become extremely popular amongst freeriders and is a topmount, symmetrical twin shape deck. It features W concave with deep concavities, a solid standing platform, and two big kicktails. The natural design of this deck with its flared kicks creates pockets at each end of the standing platform. This natural feature along with the W concave keeps your feet locked in at all times making those high speed standup slides easy. This deck has wheel sandouts to help reduce the risk of wheelbite. It is a solid deck ready to take abuse.

The Mini Stick is by far the smallest board you could ever get steezy with. It has been around before the Penny Board craze, and it will be around long after. Why? The Mini Sticks ride, durability, shredability, and overall quality are unmatched by any board in it’s class. It is surprisingly easy to ride despite its small profile, delivers a smooth, stable ride, and is by far the best travel board any rider could ask for.

No matter the ripper’s background, Faceplant Boardriders makes a shape to fill that summer void. With over thirty different, well-tested shapes to choose, every rider is guaranteed to be stoked on their purchase. The Double Blunt, Pow Surfer, Pow Pow, Thrill Ride, and Mini Stick are just some of the amazing decks these guys handcraft.
