DeskAlerts Customer Survey Confirms Benefits of SMS Messaging For Employees Outweigh Email

A new customer survey by the innovative web-based communication tool DeskAlerts has confirmed the benefits of SMS messaging to employees and their managers.

The desktop alert solution's study compared the effectiveness of emails with SMS messaging in the context of corporate communications. Microsoft Tag data suggests that there are around 4 billion cell phones in use, with 3.05 billion of them SMS enabled. The Frost & Sullivan 2010 and Epsilon 2009 reports both found that the SMS open rate is 98%, much higher than that of email. Additionally Tatango research says that 98% of SMS messages are read within just 3 minutes of being received and it is believed that there are five times as many mobile phones as there are computers in the world.
