From the bustling harbor of Malta's capital, Valetta, to the ancient city of Mdina, then from the soaring slopes of Mt. Etna, to the Valley of the Temples, in Sicily, this trip will enthrall the novice as well as the novice and seasoned adventurer alike.

The Experimental Traveler, Jean Renoux, is accompanying a small group of up to 12, to the Mediterranean islands of Malta and Sicily, departing the US in June 28th, 2013. Upon arrival in Malta, and after a night to get settled in, the group will embark on daily tours over the course of the next five days; including visits to Valetta, the capital, the sacred city of Mdina, the dome of Morsa, and the Megalithic Temples – seven of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On Day 6, the party will board the express ferry to Sicily, just 60 miles away, to spend the night in Modica.

On Day 7, the group will visit Noto, Siracusa, and Taormina, where they will stay overnight. The next day, the travelers will climb Mt. Etna to experience the magnificence of a live volcano. Subsequently, there will be trips to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples, and also Bagheria, among other sites, before rounding out the tour in Palermo on Day 12.
